This past April, Rotarians volunteered their time and provided donations to help our students attend their annual field trip to beautiful St. Augustine, Florida. The 4th graders learned about Florida history and had a fun time touring the city of St. Augustine!
Thank you to all of our Rotarians and sponsors who made this trip possible!
Members of the Orlando Breakfast Rotary took part in celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading to the students of Orange Center Elementary School and donated books.
Our Pack the Backpacks work party at Gray Robinson law firm went amazingly quickly and that filling 225 backpacks for Orange Center Elementary kids took only about 30 minutes! Thank you to all who participated!
As a reminder to mark your calendars for Saturday August 9 at 9:00 a.m. at Gray Robinson, 301 E. Pine St, Orlando FL 32801. Click Here to view photos of last year’s FUNDERFULL ‘Pack the Backpacks for OCE’ event:
Sometimes little things make a big difference. At the Orange Center Elementary, most students qualify for free breakfast, but the terms of the funding state that the free breakfast must end at a specific time each morning. Often students arrive late, missing the opportunity for free breakfast, and sadly, sometimes these children may not have eaten since lunch the day before. When a child is hungry, he cannot focus on class work and may become disruptive. The Orlando Breakfast Rotary stocks a pantry at OCE with juice and crackers so the kids who fall through the cracks can have some food in their bellies.
This is just one way we support the Orange Center Elementary. A special thanks to Rotarian Rich O’Brien from New Traditions Bank for leading this effort on behalf of the Orlando Breakfast Rotary.
